Welcome to the Spencer Museum of Art’s Collection Card Database!
If you have a collection card, enter the code found on the lower right corner of the card to find out more about the artwork!
Collection Cards are postcard-like souvenirs you can often find at Spencer Education events like Art Cart, Backyard Bash, Lawrence Public Library collaborations, school field trips, and more. Each card includes an image of a work of art from the Spencer’s collection with a secret code on the front (also known as the museum’s accession number). The back of the card gives the name of the artist or maker, the title of the works, and the credit line, which tells how the museum got the work. The back also shows an icon that indicates the volume or set of cards to which the card belongs. You can click on any of the icons on the main page to explore the cards by theme.
Spencer Museum of Art Collection Cards are made possible through funding from the Douglas County Community Foundation, the Lawrence Cultural Arts Commission, Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the Freeman Foundation.
